Each member of care staff has specialist training in elder care, dementia care and associated care needs. We invest in their training and development and we retain good staff to give consistency and continuity to our residents. We know making Alexander a great place to work makes it a great place to live.

Our reputation with visiting professionals
We enjoy a good reputation with healthcare professionals in Morley and farther afield. We are supported by a weekly NHS Matron round with specialists in elder care as well as many other visiting professionals. These professionals help add expertise to our care as well as adding new ideas and vibrancy to our home and a link to healthcare outside our home.

An experienced management team
We’re very lucky to have two Level 5 CQC-Registered Managers in Wendy Evered and Gail Taylor. Wendy is the General Manager with overall responsibility for the care and well-being of residents in the home and Gail is our Care Manager who coordinates care delivery.
Gail Taylor
Care Manager (CQC Registered/Level 5)
Gail joined Alexander Care Home from Anchor Homes in 1995. Gail has risen through our team ranks, becoming both a CQC Registered Manager and Care Manager at Alexander Care Home.
She is known for her always positive attitude, kindness and dependability. Gail enjoys family time, going out to music gigs and swimming in her leisure time. She enjoys knowing residents are well looked after and that we have a good team working at the Home.

Managing Director
Alex became Managing Director of Alexander in 2020 on the retirement of his parents, founders Margaret and Peter Morris. Alex worked in family care homes earlier in his career before qualifying as solicitor.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, cooking and reading history. Alex took over the Home because he was impressed by the skill, professionalism and kindness of the team at Alexander.
Wendy and Gail are supported by a well-established team, many of whom have worked for us in Morley for over ten years.

General Manager (CQC Registered/Level 5)
Wendy was recruited as Manager at Alexander Care Home in 1999. She qualified as an Enrolled Nurse before beginning her manager training with Anchor Homes. Wendy joined Alexander as Registered Manager and has been a key factor in the Home’s enjoyment of a good reputation over the years, overseeing the care of residents and nurturing many staff to deliver care with compassion.
Wendy is known for her calm and approachable manner, her problem solving, and sense of humour. Wendy enjoys spending her spare time with her family, walking her dog (Walter) and taking trips to Cyprus and Ireland. She takes pride in being someone residents and families can trust and in knowing she can call on the support of the care team she manages.
