On top of the recent investments in our building and facilities, we’ve embraced technology at Alexander Care Home with commercial grade WiFi throughout the Home, a new digital care planning system and improved communication tools.

We hope that our residents, their families and friends will all see a positive difference with these changes. Technologies like these not only help us to provide residents with access to online resources, but also let us provide more interactive social activities within the home.

For our staff, the technology is letting us streamline clerical tasks so they can focus more meaningfully on our residents, spending their time ensuring the homely and caring atmosphere we’re known for at Alexander.

We’re keen to have feedback on how these changes are working for the friends and family of our residents so please get in touch if you have suggestions, comments or queries.

We’ve always provided cosy, comfortable and safe surroundings for our residents, but we’ve invested over £350,000 in our Home since 2021.

The investments have included upgrades to our dining and activities area, and new facilities such as our resident and visitor “Coffee Corner” and Study. Both of these are being well-used already and really appreciated by our residents and their visitors.

We’ve also invested in the infrastructure of the Home with a new laundry with the latest equipment, an updated central heating system (not only more reliable, but more energy efficient too) and repaired or replaced roofing. With all this going on, we’ve also freshly decorated residents’ rooms and communal areas.

Thanks to so many local tradespeople and companies who have helped us to make these changes and investments with minimum disruption to our residents and staff.
